Classic Coastal Wedding at Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead, MA
Some wedding venues are beautiful. Others are meaningful. For this couple, the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead offered both.
Perched above Marblehead Harbor, with panoramic waterfront views and hundreds of sailboats dotting the water below, the club provided a setting that felt quintessentially New England. Yet what made it even more special was the groom's connection to the venue. Having spent summers here with family friends who are members of the club, the Corinthian Yacht Club was already woven into his story long before it became the backdrop for their wedding day.
As one of the North Shore's most exclusive private clubs, the venue hosts only a five weddings each year, making the opportunity to celebrate here feel even more intentional. Rather than choosing a traditional wedding venue, the couple wanted a place that felt personal and meaningful, a setting that already held years of memories, laughter, and connection.
Their vision was a wedding that felt modern yet timeless, elevated yet relaxed. Above all, they wanted a celebration where guests could dance, enjoy the waterfront setting, and spend the evening overlooking the sail-filled harbor that makes Marblehead one of New England's most iconic coastal towns.
About the Couple
The couple first met on Hinge in 2020 during the height of the pandemic. At the time, the groom was in dental school while the bride was preparing to begin nursing school. Their first date, a simple picnic in a Hoboken park, quickly grew into something lasting.
Over the following years, they spent countless weekends traveling back and forth to see one another before eventually building a life together in Boston, where the bride attended nursing school and the groom completed his dental residency. Their relationship grew alongside every new chapter, and soon they found themselves planning not only a wedding but their next adventure together as they prepared to move to Philadelphia for the next stages of their careers.
Timeless Bridal Fashion with Coastal Elegance
The bride's fashion choices perfectly reflected the aesthetic of the day: classic, refined, and effortlessly elegant.
She wore a classic off-the-shoulder gown featuring a dramatic oversized bow cascading down the back, blending modern sophistication with romantic bridal style. Her custom veil was designed specifically to complement the gown, creating a seamless and ethereal look that moved beautifully in the harbor breeze.
Later in the evening, she changed into a second look, a delicate mini dress adorned with intricate beading of multi-hued blue florals that beautifully complimented the wedding's floral palette and coastal setting. It was the perfect dress for celebrating on the dance floor long into the evening.
The bridesmaids wore semi-custom gowns that elevated the entire bridal party aesthetic. The bride selected the fabric herself, and each dress was custom made to fit the individual measurements of her bridesmaids. The result felt more like timeless eveningwear than traditional bridesmaid attire.
Coastal Florals Inspired by Marblehead Harbor
The floral design beautifully balanced organic movement with modern structure.
Locally sourced dogwoods, delicate lily of the valley, and rich blue hydrangeas created a palette that felt deeply connected to the New England coastline while maintaining a refined and editorial aesthetic.
The ceremony chuppah served as the focal point of the design. Its modern architectural structure was softened by cascading hanging amaranthus that added texture, movement, and drama against the backdrop of Marblehead Harbor.
One of the most meaningful design elements came from the bride's mother, a ceramic artist who handcrafted what must have been hundreds of ornate ceramic vessels specifically for the wedding. Each floral arrangement for cocktail hour, the reception tables, and the bar was thoughtfully placed in one of her handmade pieces.
These vessels transformed the floral design into something even more personal, weaving family, artistry, and craftsmanship into every corner of the celebration.
A Traditional Jewish Ceremony Along the Waterfront
Guests gathered overlooking Marblehead Harbor as a quartet of musicians performed along the waterfront.
The couple exchanged vows during a traditional Jewish ceremony beneath their floral-filled chuppah, surrounded by family, friends, and sweeping views of the harbor beyond. The combination of meaningful traditions, live music, and the coastal setting created a ceremony that felt simultaneously intimate yet grand.
A Vintage Dior Scarf and a Sunset Sail Through Marblehead Harbor
One of the day's most touching details came from a treasured family heirloom. Before the groom's grandmother passed away, she gifted the bride a vintage Dior scarf. During a sunset sail through Marblehead Harbor, as the couple traveled by boat from their ceremony to their reception at the Corinthian Yacht Club, the bride wore the scarf around her neck in honor of that special connection.
Bathed in golden evening light and surrounded by hundreds of sailboats, the harbor provided one of the most unforgettable moments of the day.
As the boat approached cocktail hour, guests gathered outside along the waterfront and cheered as the newlyweds arrived by water, creating a joyful welcome that perfectly captured the spirit of the celebration.
A Coastal-Inspired Dining Experience
The culinary experience embraced subtle coastal influences throughout the evening. Guests enjoyed a selection of coastal-inspired hors d'oeuvres before sitting down to a plated dinner featuring pan-seared salmon and prime rib.
The bar reflected the couple's personalities through thoughtful details. Signature cocktails included Aperol Spritzes and Painkillers, while the bride enjoyed a non-alcoholic champagne throughout the day so she could participate in every toast alongside family and friends.
Hand-stitched cross-stitch bar signage added a charming and personal touch, complementing the handcrafted details woven throughout the celebration.
Honoring a Corinthian Yacht Club Tradition
Corinthian Yacht Club continues to honor a longstanding maritime tradition known as Evening Colors. Rooted in naval custom, a cannon is fired at sunset to signal the lowering of the flag for the night, inviting members and guests to pause and observe a moment of reflection.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the couple and their guests stepped outside together to witness the tradition as the cannon sounded across Marblehead Harbor. It was a striking moment that connected the celebration to the club's rich history and sailing heritage.
Afterward, we took advantage of the final moments of golden light for sunset portraits along the waterfront before heading back inside for an unforgettable evening of dancing.
A Cake Almost Too Beautiful to Cut
The wedding cake continued the artistic theme of the day. Delicate hand-crafted sugar flowers cascaded across the exterior, creating a sculptural design that echoed the floral installations throughout the wedding.
Dancing the Night Away Overlooking Marblehead Harbor
As day turned to night, the celebration shifted into a lively reception filled with heartfelt toasts, packed dance floors, and nonstop energy.
Overlooking a harbor filled with sailboats and surrounded by the people they love most, the couple created exactly the kind of wedding they had envisioned, one that felt meaningful, joyful, timeless, and deeply connected to place.
For anyone dreaming of a waterfront wedding on Massachusetts' North Shore, it would be hard to imagine a more iconic setting than the Corinthian Yacht Club in Marblehead.
