A Ralph Lauren Inspired Cape Cod Engagement Session
Lauren and Conor’s Cape Cod engagement session took place in Chatham, Massachusetts at their family Cape house, a setting that we built their entire engagement session around.
Rather than choosing a separate location, they kept everything rooted in a place that already holds meaning for them, which made the session feel natural, unforced, and meaningful to them.
The aesthetic direction was a modern interpretation of Ralph Lauren-inspired styling: classic, minimal, and coastal, with clean silhouettes and neutral tones that worked perfectly against the textures of the Cape. Lauren’s wardrobe brought a refined, editorial edge, while Conor’s linen looks kept everything relaxed and grounded.
We began the session in the backyard of their Cape Cod cottage, where the landscape opens directly into tall grass and water views.
We incorporated Conor’s boat into the session in a natural way, treating it as part of their everyday environment rather than a prop. We photographed along the shoreline and out on the water, and it all felt very true to them.
Their golden retriever puppy joined for part of the session, including a few photos on the boat. Equal parts calm and energetic, she brought a joy (and a little chaos) to the moment that balanced the otherwise clean, structured styling.
From the dunes to the water to the Cape house itself, this Chatham Cape Cod engagement session stayed intentionally minimal in scope but rich in context. Everything was tied to place and routine rather than staged setups, which allowed the focus to remain on Lauren and Conor and the life they’re building together ahead of their wedding at a private estate on the Cape next year.
