Summer Garden Party Wedding at Misselwood Estate
Alexa and Cris were married at Misselwood Estate at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts, a coastal property on the North Shore with ocean views, historic architecture, and open, garden-lined grounds. Their summer wedding leaned into the setting, clean, intentional, and rooted in the natural landscape.
A Story That Began Long Before College
Alexa and Cris first crossed paths in college in South Carolina, though their families had unknowingly been connected years prior. Their parents had known one another for more than two decades before reconnecting at a family friend’s gathering, where they discovered their children were attending the same university.
A brief campus encounter followed during junior year, one of those passing introductions that doesn’t yet signal anything significant. It wasn’t until the year before senior year that Cris reached out and asked Alexa to dinner. That conversation marked the beginning of their relationship.
Misselwood Estate on a Summer Day
Their wedding took place on a clear summer day at Misselwood Estate. The design was classic coastal New England, white florals paired with soft pastel blue accents, allowing the coastal landscape to remain the focal point.
Getting Ready
The morning felt intentional and calm. Alexa spent the early hours with her closest people as she got ready in the beautiful natural light of the estate.
In the Estate’s library, Cris got ready with his groomsmen, the atmosphere relaxed and unhurried.
First Look
Alexa and Cris shared their first look at the front of the Estate, with gorgeous flowering foliage in the background. The moment was private and personal just the two of them as the ocean rocked in the background.
Private Vows and Portraits
Before the ceremony, they read private vows together in a quieter corner of the property.
Couple portraits followed, moving through the gardens and coastal overlooks as the light softened and shifted across the property.
Ceremony
The ceremony was held outdoors with views of the Atlantic framed by white and pastel blue florals arched on the ground. The structure of the space was simple, allowing the landscape to remain present throughout the ceremony.
Alexa and Cris exchanged vows in front of their closest people as the wind moved through the trees and the water remained visible just beyond the ceremony space.
Reception
Dinner, toasts, and dancing carried the evening forward in a way that felt natural and fun. The energy built gradually, moving from conversation to celebration as the night progressed.
Sunset Portraits
Later in the evening, we returned to the shoreline for portraits as the light dropped toward sunset.
The estate’s coastal edges and open views carried a different tone at this hour, with softer light and longer shadows defining the final ocean side portraits of the day.
Alexa and Cris’s wedding at Misselwood Estate reflected a clear sense of place and intention.
The day was built around moments, quiet moments in the morning, unhurried portraits along the water, and an evening that gradually shifted into celebration without interruption or excess.
It was a summer wedding on the North Shore that stayed close to what mattered, people, setting, and time together, held in a space that allowed all three to exist without distraction.
