A Classic Boston Engagement Session

Only a few weeks after making the move from Texas to Boston, Kyndall and Bobby found themselves exploring Boston, their new city, together for one of the very first times.

After meeting in college in Texas, the two recently made the exciting move to Boston, beginning a new chapter together just weeks before our session. Rather than choosing just one location, we spent the afternoon wandering through some of the city's most iconic neighborhoods, allowing them to experience many of these places for the very first time.

We began in Cambridge, where grand marble columns and timeless architecture created an elegant backdrop that felt reminiscent of Washington, D.C. The neoclassical details paired beautifully with the couple's effortlessly refined style. Kyndall wore the stunning Poppy Layered Gown by Elliatt, a sculptural tiered dress with modern architectural lines, while Bobby complemented the look in a tailored beige linen suit. Together, they struck the perfect balance between classic and contemporary, creating portraits that were sophisticated, editorial, and completely timeless.

From there, we made our way into the heart of Boston, stopping first at the Public Garden. Before moving to Boston, Kyndall was a kindergarten teacher back in Texas, and one of the books she loved sharing with her students was Make Way for Ducklings, the beloved children's story set right here in the Boston Public Garden. Taking a moment to capture portraits in the same place that had been part of her classroom memories was such a meaningful full-circle moment as she began this new chapter in Boston.

After wandering through the gardens, we continued through the charming streets of Beacon Hill, where historic brick sidewalks, gas lanterns, and the iconic Acorn Street created the quintessential Boston backdrop.

One of my favorite parts of photographing engagement sessions is watching couples settle into the experience. As we moved throughout Boston, Kyndall and Bobby laughed, explored, and took in every new view, allowing each location to feel natural and personal. Their excitement for this new season together was contagious, and every photograph reflects not only their love for one another but also the joy of beginning a life in a city that was still becoming home.

To end the evening, we embraced one of Boston’s sweetest traditions with ice cream from the beloved Frosty’s truck parked beside the Public Garden. It was the perfect ending to a summer afternoon, ice cream in hand, the city buzzing around us, and two people celebrating not only their engagement but the beginning of their next adventure together.
